Electrical Engineer – Power System Modelling

Description

We are looking for a Power System Modeller to support a quickly growing part of our business. You will report to the Lead Electrical Engineer and support technical projects from the enquiry stage, through technical execution to final delivery to the customer. The role is based at our offices in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Occasional UK and overseas travel may will be required to visit customers.

About You

You will have degree level qualification in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and at least five years of relevant experience of power system modelling, including performing load flow, fault and stability studies. You will be proficient in a recognised power system modelling software, ideally PowerFactory by DigSilent.  A post-graduate qualification in electrical engineering and professional registration are desirable.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Lead on all power system modelling projects.
  • Identify and highlight potential new business opportunities and technical solutions.
  • Increase the computer simulation power system modelling capabilities of EES Ltd. Work with other Electrical Engineers to develop skills and expertise in this area.
  • Support the tendering process with technically innovate and competitive solutions.
  • Analyse and interpret excitation system performance data from commissioning and maintenance of excitation equipment.
  • Write technical reports documenting the work completed and making conclusions and engineering recommendations.
  • Work within the guidelines set by the ISO9001 accredited quality system to ensure all projects and business activities are delivered to the high standards and expectations of our customers.
  • Attend training courses and conferences to develop and improve technical competence in the specialist areas that EES operates.
  • Provide feedback to the business to drive continuous improvement.
  • Manage work load, prioritise and operate efficiently to meet customer deadlines.

Full-time, Permanent

£45,000.00 to £55,000.00 /year

 

Project Manager

Description

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to deliver projects to our worldwide customer base. You will have a proven record delivering technically complex, high value projects, ideally in the power or industrial sector. You will report to the Operations Manager and support the project management process from the enquiry stage, through technical execution, closure and after-market. The role is based at our offices in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Occasional UK and overseas travel will be required to manage suppliers, develop new business and visit existing customers.

About You

You will have at least five years relevant experience along with a project management, quality management or other relevant qualification. You will also have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills along with good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Knowledge about the power and industrial sectors and managing service engineers is desirable but not essential.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Identify potential new business opportunities and promote EES to existing and potential new customers.
  • Lead the tendering process for large projects.
  • Act on customer enquiries and write proposals for prospective work.
  • Be responsible for delivering complex technical projects.
  • Work within the guidelines set by the ISO9001 accredited quality system to ensure all projects and business activities are delivered to the high standards and expectations of our customers.
  • Produce project Gantt charts and manage project scheduling.
  • Manage and monitor project costs, budget and engineering hours.
  • Liaise with the Directors, Operations Manager, and engineers to allocate resources effectively and efficiently.
  • Use dynamic scheduling to meet changing customer requirements.
  • Manage project change.
  • Maintain project documentation.
  • Assess and mitigate project risk.
  • Ensure accurate and timely invoicing.
  • Maintain communication with project stakeholders through telephone, email, tele-conferences and meetings. Produce and circulate minutes of meetings.
  • Manage work load, prioritise and operate efficiently to meet customer deadlines.
  • Attend trade shows, exhibitions and conferences to promote EES and develop new business.

Full-time, Permanent

£30,000.00 to £40,000.00 /year

 

Project Co-Ordinator

Description

We are looking for a Project Coordinator to support our growing portfolio of work. You will have experience working on and delivering projects, ideally in the power or industrial sector and will have a proven record of coordinating project activities. You will support the whole project management process from the enquiry stage through to project completion, working with a team of engineers. The role is based at our offices in Tamworth, Staffordshire. Occasional UK and overseas travel will be required to manage suppliers, develop new business and visit existing customers.

About You

You will have at least two years relevant experience along with a project management, quality management or other relevant qualification. You will also have excellent organisational and interpersonal skills along with good communication, teamwork and problem-solving skills. Knowledge about the power and industrial sectors and managing service engineers is desirable but not essential.
